Another drawing that will be part of my Eternal Year card deck. I am repurposing this old piece…I’ll be adding some kind of carnivore skull at the base of the mushrooms to symbolize “Decay.” This card will be part of the “Summer” collection.
The deck will have either 44 or 48 cards, possibly more, depending on how I progress. I have to finish my credential program, and part of that is completing my edTPA here in California, which is quite involved and time-consuming.
Here is another finished drawing–“Emerge,” part of the “Spring” collection. You can see strawberry leaves and blossoms, fiddlehead ferns in her hair, and decaying leaves from the past fall. She represents the earth coming back to life, greening up, unfurling.
Eventually, perhaps when I get 15 drawings ready to go, I will start coloring in Photoshop. I have more to share, as I’ve been pretty consistent in my drawing routine for the past few weeks.
More to follow!
Finished my first drawing “Growth” and now on to the second one “Stillness.”
“Stillness” is going to be a calm winter scene: a little forest cottage, snuggled into the snow, sleeping critters, and geometric trees. I’m looking forward to the cold of fall and the quiet of winter, even though winters are a bit different here in California. It’s nice to take a breather after a crazy season of gardening and just curl up on the couch with a hot cup of tea and my drawing pad.
Finally got to work on my painting today and am making some progress! Hopefully, I’ll be done with this one by the end of the night!
I’m going to try and condition myself to paint more often, even though my free time only comes in hour-long bits of time. If I can paint an hour a day, that would come out to a 5×7 painting a week! So, even if I have to work on smaller pieces, I’ll be able to see the work I put in come to a complete painting in the span of a mere week 🙂
I’m going to try to aim for 15 new pieces over the next 3 months–HOWEVER, a lot of pieces that I’ll be including in that tally are already started and just need to be finished! So this is a project for tying up a lot of loose ends 🙂
It’s been too long between posts! Time to get back into the painting groove for me. I’ve been busy studying for my teacher credential tests, and that has been taking up a lot of time. I feel a little bereft at not spending as much time as I normally do on painting.
So, I’ve decided to do a few small ones in honor of this coming spring…Imbolc was a week ago, so I missed that one, but Ostara is coming up! And that means rabbits!!
It’s a little dreary out, right now, but spring is coming…
Hello! I haven’t updated my blog as often as I would like, but that’s because I’m having a bit trouble staying focused on one particular project. I tend to get bored easily and switch my attention on a whim, but this time, I would like to concentrate and follow through with a project.
I am now working on a deck of oracle cards, this being my first image. When I complete 5-7 cards, I will explain meanings and the method behind the deck. I want to focus solely on this project and dedicate myself to watercolors, with a few commissions thrown into the mix.
I am also working on opening up a Patreon account, which is very exciting for me!
